Historic Interest
In 1886, three cottages in Market Street, at least one of which which had been a beer house, were withdrawn from auction. This may be the site of the Life Boat Inn operated by Robert Little and listed in Bagshaw's Directory of 1850. The address of the Life Boat Inn is not known but Robert Little is shown on the Tithe Map of 1844 as owning this property of three cottages in Market Street.
