Town-centre bar serving six ales, still ciders and craft beers on tap. Inside, it's deceptively spacious with a mix of comfy sofas, mixed tables and bar stools. Weird and wonderful pictures adorn the walls. Quiet background music and no gaming machines encourages conversation.

On some Fridays and Saturdays there's live music, and on every other Sunday there's an open mic night. Pub quiz every other Wednesday attracts a good number of teams, and there's always room for another.

There are six real ales from local, regional and national breweries, always including a dark one and Bear & Wolf by Fixed Wheel (brewed only for the pub), with some more unusual and interesting beers often available. A variety of canned craft beers are in the fridge. Pork pies and scotch eggs are available all day. CAMRA members are offered 10p/pt off real ales on production of a valid membership card.
