Friendly Grade II listed local, handy for the North York Moors Railway station just round the corner. The quiet front bar boasts an open fire and window seats and features a collection of fishing flies courtesy of Pickering Fishery Association. Popular with North York Moors Railway enthusiasts as well as local clubs such as the fishing association and ferret fanciers. The large multi-level bar at the rear has a pool table and juke box. A partially covered smoking/drinking area is to the rear, adjacent to the beer garden.

Freshly cooked meals are served lunchtimes and early evenings either in the front bar or upstairs restaurant (which can be utilised for functions). A carvery on Sunday is also available. Quiz night on Thursdays, and karaoke every other Friday.
