A tasteful refurbishment by the Inn Collection Group of the historic St George Hotel opposite the Royal Hall and Harrogate Exhibition Centre. Accessed up a flight of steps from Montpellier Road, through what was formerly a large window above ground due to the local topography. Barking George is a magnificent bar and restaurant in the old hotel with high quality decoration including fancy chandeliers and a lovely stained glass dome above the bar which showers natural light into the room. There are four handpumps on the bar but only one or two serving ales. Pass through this bar to another equally magnificent bar, Stray Away, also with four handpulls, one or two of which serve a similar selection of ales. There is a large outside space with bench tables and parasols overlooking the beautiful Crescent Gardens. Food is served all day, starting with breakfast from 7am.
NB. This pub does not display prices of its cask ales. Prices can vary considerably, and you are advised to ask for prices at the bar before ordering.
This Pub serves 2 changing beers and 0 regular beers.
