This Pub is Closed Long Term
Pub closed, Jan 2014. Popular town pub with eclectic clientele, situated adjacent to the historic Southgate arch. The lounge is quiet, cosy, carpeted and wood-panelled, and decorated with old pictures; the stone-floored public bar is busy and games-orientated with TV, whilst there is a separate pool room annexe. There are two real beers normally available, from nearby Penpont Brewery (which isa varied) and another from breweries such as Holsworthy, Forge or Bay's., Seven rooms are available for B&B, and car parking is in the public (Race Hill) car park, 100m. The pub is near two 50km recreational walks: the Two Castles Way (Okehampton) and Tamar Valley Discovery Trail (Plymouth).
