This is a club, which means that the bar may be only open to members.
Established in 1837 for officers of the Army, Royal Navy, and Royal Marines and located at this venue since 1963. Membership is nowadays also offered to Commonwealth services members. The present modern building extends over ten floors and almost 80 thousand square feet.
As might be expected the Club has good collections of naval and military portraits and other art. Two portraits of Nell Gwynne are attributed to Lely; she is supposed to have once lived in a house on this site.
The Smoking Room Bar on the ground floor and the Ribbon Bar & Terrace on the third floor offer Belhaven Pilsner and Fuller's London Pride draught keg beers.
