Historic Interest

The Anchor Vaults was trading as far back as 1850 as an Argyle Brewery pub, transferred to Birkenhead Brewery in 1866. The old photo shows the pub in the late 1890s. Closed in 1970 when the new Blue Anchor pub replaced it.
