The Pub became Babylon Cafe for about 3 years after closure. Last Licensing date is 19/04/07, on 29/09/06 Thoma Andrew Gilbertson was showing as Landlord and Oxford Hotels and Inns Management was owner. In May 1981 it was a Bass Keg Pub. It was refurbished in June 1986 and by June 1987 it had a straight bar with Bass 4X Mild and Draught Bass (H). From 1988 to 1990 and again from 1993 to 1995 it was listed in the Good Beer Guide selling Bass 4X Mild and Draught Bass (H). It was listed in the 1989 Beer in Bolton Guide as selling Bass 4X Mild and Draught Bass (H), however by November 1989 the 4X Mild was Keg. It was listed in the Great North Western Beer Festival programme as selling Bass Bitter (Draught Bass). It was mentioned in two articles in Autumn and Winter 1993 that it sold Draught Bass and again in Bolton Drinker. The pub was noted as boarded up in September 2004 and in April 2005 it was mentioned that the pub had once been owned by Boardmans Brewery. The Pub was closed around 2010, but then became Sparkles Nitespot and later Lounge 16 and by 2018 Sparkles Bar. It was for sale with Pugh Auctions 19/07/18 with a Guide price of ÂŁ85K, it was not sold, guide now ÂŁ90K, it was eventually sold on 18/10/18 ÂŁ75-ÂŁ85K sold ÂŁ85K, reopening 23/11/18 as Sparkles Bar. For much of this time it had the same bar that Bass had installed in 1987. It closed again around 2019.
