The home of the (currently mothballed) Sheffield Brewery Company, housed in an 1840's Victorian polish factory, serving cask beer, keg beer and a variety of spirits. The tap room may be hired for events. Opening hours are subject to change if they have events on. Mondays are seasonal (May - October).

Alder is on the CAMRA Local Inventory of Historic Pub Interiors. The pub operates in the historic Albyn Complex, well-known for producing the world famous Blanco Polish in its time. Nowadays, the original, rustic Victorian red-brick factory houses one of the UK’s only traditional, gravity-fed tower brewing systems, and is home to the Brewery Tap Room.
