Claiming to be Lincoln's oldest tavern, this large pub occupies a commanding position overlooking the lower part of the city. The main bar area is spacious and there is a separate pool room. The windows of the front room offer views of the medieval Pottergate Arch with the Cathedral beyond. A small beer garden is built into the hillside. There is a weekly general knowledge quiz, a monthly music quiz and regular live music. Home-cooked food is served.
