This Pub is Permanently Closed
This pub/hotel was been bought by the owners of the White Horse, Romsey and should have reopened February 2016 after an extensive refurbishment. Work started on the refurbishment (February 2018), but soon stopped again. Latest news is that it has been sold to local developers Brightbeech Group in January 2020.
Previous description was: This large traditional inn is easily found, right opposite Romsey Abbey. Its central location makes it a very convenient break point when visiting this historic market town. The large comfortable bar has a log fire in winter; and opposite is a nicely laid dining room. Accommodation consists of seven en-suite rooms, and there are two function rooms. There is parking at the rear of the hotel, and the garden is surprisingly peaceful. Flack Manor Double Drop, brewed about half a mile away, makes occasional appearances as a guest beer.
