Originally an outbuilding to the Abbey but converted to pub usage in 1979, it positively oozes character, originally with its two contrasting rooms on two levels. The Undercroft Bar, is the only part currently open and has an uneven, tiled floor with a magnificent open fire. The currently closed [2026] upstairs features a vaulted ceiling with fine, exposed roof timbers. Not to be missed if you are in this attractive, conservation area.
House rules preclude the use of electronic devices and no swearing.
The pub is situated at the end of Darley Park, next to the River Derwent and close to the Darley Mills area, making it attractive to families and walkers.
