hotel with bars open to non-residents
Very impressive conversion of the much missed Boswell's Department Store. Francis Boswell started selling trunks and luggage at 50 Cornmarket Street in 1738 and in 1912 the business relocated to the present building. It has a vast bar on the ground floor and a rooftop terrace (open from 6 to 11, 12-11 Fridays and Saturdays) for over 21s only. Sells wine and cocktails at the sort of prices you would expect in a posh hotel; also has some beer on tap.
