Historic Interest
Listed in Bagshaws Directory of 1850, operated by John Peers described as 'beer house keeper and blacksmith'. The property was located at the bottom of Mill Lane directly opposite the Coach & Horses and shown on the Tithe map with John Peers as occupant. The smithy appears to have relocated by the 1890s and the beerhouse closed.
