The location given is approximate, it was the first property in Stone Road from Stafford Street. The licensee in 1901 and 1904 was Mrs Mary Slinn but in 1903 the owner was recorded as James Underhill, her son-in-law. James was licensee by 1908, the pub was offered for sale in 1918 but James was still licensee two years later when the pub closed. The licence was refused in 1920 and the pub closed in December 1920. In 1921 James Underhill was at the Eagle in Newport Road.
