This Pub is Permanently Closed

The building became the Shutt Heath beerhouse in about 1834, was renamed the Bridge Inn when a new bridge was built over the Stafford to Wellington railway line which opened in 1849 and became the Railway Inn in 1905. Many of the licensees were also blacksmiths. It closed in 1947, two years before passenger traffic on the line cease, and became a private house, now called the Old Railway Inn.
