This Pub is Permanently Closed

The pub was at he junction of High Street and Little Onn Lane, Church Eaton although a few records list it in Wood Eaton. Charles Lomas was licensee in 1908, by 1911 it was Charles Chilton who was there for 5 years. On June 1 1912 the Staffordshire Advertiser carried a notice that the freehold was for sale in the occupation of William Chilton and John W Holt was the licensee in 1916. In 1922 the licensee John Holt was convicted of offences under the Licensing Act and James Stamworth took over. In 1928 the pub was closed and the licence was transferred to the Crown, Chadsmoor. The building appears to remain as a private house.
