This Pub is Permanently Closed
A pub attached to a farm. Henry Foster was licensee in 1901 and was still there in 1908 but George Robert Gregory had taken over by 1911. Foster was recorded as brewing on the premises in 1906. The farm and fully licensed public house were advertised to be let in the Staffordshire Advertiser on the 13 Jan 1917 but the same paper on 24 Feb 1917 announced that the sale had been postponed. The same paper carried an advert for the sale of farming stock for Mr Gregory on 10 Mar 1917. There is no record of the pub operating after this date. The building remains as Shirleywich Farm. A photograph of the pub sign is available on the Staffs Past Track website https://www.search.staffspasttrack.org.uk/Details.aspx?&ResourceID=15908&PageIndex=1&KeyWord=Ferrers%20Arms&SortOrder=2
