This Pub is Closed Long Term

The Golden Lion is located next to the banks of the River Wear in the shadow of the A19 road bridge. The pub, dating from around 1910 is a grade 2 listed building and is on a no - through road at the foot of a long hill , about 10 minutes from South Hylton Metro. The bar is roughly U shaped Meals are available daily with regular specials. Part of the pub is an Indian restaurant and takeaway. Outside seating area allowing drinkers to enjoy the river flowing past.

NOTE THE PUB SUFFERED A MAJOR FIRE IN 2019 AND ITS FUTURE IS UNCERTAIN.
