This Pub is Permanently Closed

This was a large Courage pub at the beginning of the High Street at the junction of Bolters Lane. A good pint was to be had here, and, indeed, the Victoria was a Good Beer Guide regular between 1976 and 1987. At the front of this Victorian pub was a fairly small public bar. This led to a large lounge area that had much wood paneling in evidence. The pub, which used to be extremely busy, was converted into Zizzi's pizza restaurant in 2004.
