Situated on the edge of Portsmouth Harbour, this is an excellent place to watch the comings and goings of both cross channel ferries and warships heading to or from the Naval Base. The 'L' shaped bar has a bare boarded floor with a mix of seating. Not surprisingly, the decor has a nautical theme. The upstairs room is of a similar shape, part of which has conservatory styled windows and roof. It can be hired for private functions and is equipped for meetings and conferences.
Historic Interest
The pub made the press on 4 August 1960 as HMS Vanguard was being towed from the Naval Base to be scrapped. As the ship was leaving the harbour she slewed across the entrance with the bow almost in the pub.
This Pub serves 1 changing beer and 3 regular beers.
