Part of the Woolston Waterside development on the site of the former Vosper Thornycroft shipyards, Mettricks Woolston opened on Easter Saturday 2017. Located at the ground floor of a residential block it is a vibrant contemporary café bar that extends the Mettricks brand over the River Itchen into Woolston. While not quite a 'pub' in that it lacks a bar one can drink at it nevertheless acts as one, though perhaps not at 7.30am! An ample number of tables & chairs and also a couple of comfortable sofas inside plus outside seating either on the plaza or overlooking the river.
When it opened (mid 2017) it had two handpumps with cask ales sourced from local breweries but these didn't last long. There may still be some bottled real ales.
Its sister venue can be found in Guildhall Plaza, near the Bargate.
Please note that this is a 'cashless' establishment.
