Parts of this Grade 2 listed inn date back to 1610 and it was once owned by an ancestor of Abraham Lincoln, and is a traditional English country pub. Up to five beers are available, two permanent and three changing.
The main bar has a low ceiling with original beams which have English hops from Kent hanging from them. The large open fire gives a warm welcome to customers in the dark winter months. There's also a dining room and a small games room with pool and darts.
Outside, the extensive garden includes a bowling green - the pub's bowls club play in the Dereham and Elmham leagues, from May to September each year.
The Angel has a reputation for serving a top quality choice of cask ales, and reasonably-priced traditional pub food is served every day, with roasts on Sunday.
The pub is also next door to Swanton Morley Cricket Club, and hosts a beer festival each year over the Easter Bank Holiday.
This Pub serves 3 changing beers and 2 regular beers.
