This Pub is Permanently Closed
This handsome set of buildings bears the date 1879 on a tile-hung gable above a brick-nogged first storey over a carriageway entrance. The public bar has a curved counter, a pool table and a dartboard. The wood panelled lounge, which is available for use as a function room, has a maritime theme, with portholes and nautical pictures on the walls. Food is not served at weekends. There is live music twice a month. Those seeking to comfort the inner child should visit the traditional sweet shop in nearby Eling Lane.
