Owned & run by Father & Son Robert & Edward, the chef, since 1st June 2003, the Fortescue Arms dates back to the 1890’s when the original building was a station Hotel opposite the Mortehoe & Woolacombe railway station, until the days of Beecham in 1970, when the line was closed down. The Fortescue Arms is a freehouse with restaurants & B&B. Situated just 2 miles from the world acclaimed sandy beaches of Woolacombe, the Fortescue offers food & drinks with a choice of eating and drinking areas, freshly prepared varied menus, cooked in house and Sunday carvery. Dog and Family friendly. Now SOLD (OCT 24) to Richard Wheeler, who owns the Royal Britannia Hotel in Ilfracombe. No details as yet as to any re-opening.
