The Star is a handsome Grade II listed 18th-century building just north of Romsey town centre, located on a tricky bend in the road to Stockbridge. The pub was originally the Strong's Brewery tap, at the old brewery site entrance. Later it became a Wadworth pub, and is now a free house. Up to 3 draught beers are generally available, mostly from local breweries. Inside is a large single room, with a usually silent TV at the lounge end of the bar near the large woodburner. Tuesday and Friday are league darts nights, with league poker on Thursday. On Wednesday there is an informal folk session, and live music every Saturday evening. The Star Inn is indeed an Inn, providing much needed accommodation in the town.
