This Pub is Permanently Closed
A handsome, 18th century, tile-hung building. The adjacent Crown Tap (see separate entry) was once part of the hotel. We are uncertain of the exact closure date, we know a band played there July 2001 so it was sometime after then that the Crown Hotel was disposed of by then owners, brewers Eldridge Pope. One part, the Squire's Room, became Unity Hall and part of the ground floor initially became a pizza restaurant, then Seven Fish Restaurant & Bar and later Koh Thai Tapas.
Historic Interest
Grade II listed.
