This heritage pub was restored tastefully after a catastrophic fire in 2010, with period-sympathetic and comfortable furnishings throughout, together with a real fire. The restaurant is situated on the hotel side of the ground floor with a large bar area on 2 levels on the other, albeit with limited access to the bar itself. Specials change daily on the menu, including a Catch of the Day and Oriental Dish. The Sunday Carvery is also very popular. The two regular ales are joined by a guest ale in summer.
