Located high on the hills to the East of Winchester, Milbury dates from the 17th century and has stunning northbound views from its garden. The South Downs Way runs past the pub, so it is very convenient for all users. The pub, which had a major refurbishment in 2023, is well known for its large (human-sized) treadmill that was used to pull water up from its 100m deep well.
The vast interior, with a mixture of brick and panelled walls, consists of a bar area with original slate floor, leading to the Wheel Room which has two previous signs for the pub on the wall. Above the Wheel Room is a gallery seating area with comfy sofas. Behind the bar area is a large extension room which is used as a restaurant serving a range of small and large quality food platters. Outside is a vast garden with plenty of benches.
