Opened in 2015 in a former furniture shop. There is a back-to-basics approach with an emphasis on conversation and community. An ever-changing range of beer and cider is served by friendly staff from the cellar hatch. Handpumps in use, with gravity remaining an option. A dark beer is always available. Winner of both Cider and City Pub of the Year awards for the branch in 2025.
Chosen as CAMRA North East Region Pub of the Year 2022, then runner-up in the national CAMRA pub of the year competition 2022, making it one of the top 4 pubs in the country. Closed Mondays.
