The Angel Hotel is situated close to the swing bridge over the River Esk, that joins east with west Whitby. The pub has a long history in the town, described in the local directory of 1893 as an old established commercial inn. Stage coaches left from here.
An excellent place from which to explore the traditional maritime town of Whitby, one of the true delights of the Yorkshire coast.
The hotel reopened on the 28 March 2013, following a major refurbishment. The Angel Inn provides 34 bedrooms, 18 handpulls, real cider, two bars and a mezzanine, quality food at competitive prices, separate hotel reception, lift and an external area overlooking the harbour.
In 2024, besides the nationally contracted beers, now also sells Lord'a beers from Huddersfield, as well as Titanic, Saltaire and Tooth & Claw.
Ale Wednesdays are now in force, where already keenly priced real ale is substantially further discounted.
