Historic Interest
A report in the Ipswich Journal** in Feb 1880 states that : "Married by special licence at St James’ Church, Bury, by the Rev. Charles E Block, Christopher Ryall, of the Crown Inn, to Sarah Ann Webb Lane, of Chipping Campden, Glosop." Originally supplied by Stonham brewery. Sold to Bullard & Co in 1898. A fire in Aug 1911 engulfed the building & an elderly lady was suffocated upstairs. The pub was rebuilt almost immediately. An earlier pub of same name was located in Bury Street.
