A lively and friendly main road pub offering Sky TV, BT Sport and pub games including pool. Quiz on Thu eve.

Historic Interest

An advert in the The Bury & Norwich Post** on Tue 13 March 1866 lists this pub as part of the sale of Stonham Brewery together with 26 other premises. The 1904 Woodbridge licensing records show that the Bell's license was issued in 1803. My grandfather was a regular visitor to his brother's pub, the Cock & Pie where my grandmother was working as a barmaid for the landord, Harry Cooper. Harry agreed to move her to The Bell as his brother, Albert was tenant there & needed help. Both were recent widow/widower in desperate need of a new husband/wife & they soon married - in 1931. (info from Alan E Cooper). The building dates from the 16th century, with 17th & 20th century alterations. Grade II listed.
