This Pub is Permanently Closed
Grade II listed pub closed and converted to a restaurant (Clos du Marquis) sometime between 1994 & 2001. The 1994 Hampshire Pub Guide described it as a characterful, multi-roomed, eighteenth century pub with its own 200ft deep well. Walls & ceilings were adorned with numerous collections - chamber pots, mugs, fans etc. There was a fine oak and brass bank of three hand-pumps reputed to be as old as the pub. Beers served then were Marston's Best Bitter and Pedigree.
