A 16th century historic coaching inn with stables, although now much modernised. Note the small coaching light window in the side passageway (there is another at the Angel).
It was named the Victoria Cross for a short time but reverted after a very short time back to The Globe due to local opposition.
There is one long room downstairs and a function room upstairs. TV sports, Karaoke and Discos feature highly.
Sadly, handpumps were taken out in February 2025.
