Located opposite the Town Hall, near the market, this hostelry was built in 1740 and is probably the oldest pub in Brighouse. To the rear, in the middle of the 19th century, there was once a cricket ground. These days this pub is very busy town centre hotel, made particularly lively at weekends by the young. Entertainment consists of live music, discos or karaoke and a large screen television. Cask beer is no longer available (Dec 2022).
