Sadly, a personal visit (9/7/15) revealed that Melvaig Inn closed in June 2015.

Currently, locals are trying to arrange for a "local" to be set up locally, subject to funding, planning, and of course finding a site!

The Mailvaig Inn is 8 miles West of Gairloch along a twisty single track road and worth the drive for the food and fabulous views and sunsets towards the Isle of Skye and the Outer Hebrides. A converted stone Meeting House with a friendly and relaxed family atmosphere. Very interesting interior decoration which has to be seen! A hint, Ian used to be a roadie for some of the bigger rock bands, so of course there is an "old" juke box. Famed for its seafood, which is fresh and very keenly priced, so a good idea to book as it is very popular.
