This Pub is Closed Long Term
Former Whitbread house in idyllic setting opposite a small village green. Very popular with walkers, this comfortable pub offers a good selection of real ales, often including guest beers from Kent micro-breweries, and a wide selection of good quality food. Quiz nights Monday; live acts/open mic nights Sunday. The pub is clearly signposted "The Green Man" from both directions on A227 and lanes beyond.
Severely damaged by fire early in the morning of 17 June 2021. Lightning strike probably responsible, but as yet this is unconfirmed. We wish the licensees well and hope that it will be possible to repair the extensive damage.
Update 1/22. A campaign group has been established to try to secure the rebuilding of The Green Man and stop the site from being redeveloped as housing. If you are interested in participating, the contact for The Green Man Recovery Group is frank.cottee@gmail.com. Your support will be most welcome.
