Located just a brief stroll from the bustling town centre, this alehouse on the corner offers ample attractions for enthusiasts of cask ale and is certainly worth a visit. The upper bar has eight handpumps serving ales from microbreweries and a log fire in winter. The bar displays beer selections on digital screens that update regularly. Pump clips in the bar indicate beers currently stored in the cellar. The lower bar holds weekly Tuesday jam sessions and occasional weekend music events. Up to four ciders and perries are available and a selection of KeyKeg beers. A sheltered outdoor seating area remains available for use throughout most of the year. Quizzes take place monthly on Sunday night, and a beer festival is held every June. Food is available from Wednesday to Saturday, and pizzas are especially in demand.
