The Duke of Wellington is a community-owned pub in every sense. The Duke, in 2025, in its 7th year of community ownership and is managed by the Manageress who is employed by the Leasingham Community Benefit Society. Originally named the Wheatsheaf, the pub was renamed when it was bought by a local Officer following the Battle of Waterloo.
The Duke has a cosy feel and atmosphere with a comfortable lounge and restaurant area and a separate boot bar with pool table. Outside there is a courtyard and spacious grassed garden with plenty of outdoor seating. Car parking is provided but plenty of roadside parking is also available. The Duke is very dog friendly but they will need to be on a lead.
The two regular Real Ales are Marston's Pedigree and Woodforde's Wherry with another two Real Ales making an appearance most weekends. The pub has recently taken on a new chef providing lunch and evening meals. Every two weeks new Specials will appear on the menu. Booking for the evening is recommended.
Regular weekly events include the Tuesday £20 Pub Quiz and a Pool Night when playing at home. Monthly, the pub hosts an Open Mic Night on the second Wednesday and a lunch time quizzical on the first Thursday.
