Grade II listed, part of an original coaching inn, located in a terrace in the centre of the ancient village overlooking St Giles church which has Saxon origins. In the heart of the Sid Valley, part of the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The pub was bought from Punch Taverns by a local business man and reopened in September 2014. It is a genuinely free house and since May 2016 it has been managed by new landlords. There is an ongoing programme of development - the bar has been redecorated and refurbished with the floor tiled, and an attractive sunny courtyard has been created. It is now a traditional pub catering for villagers, walkers, cyclists and other visitors. Lunch and evening meals are provided. Four en-suite Bed and Breakfast rooms are available. There is a large skittle alley/function room off the courtyard. The hourly 9 Exeter to Honiton via Sidmouth bus stops right outside.
This Pub serves 1 changing beer and 2 regular beers.
