The CIU affiliated Cwmllynfell Uplands Working Mens Club functions as an independent entity within the building now known as the Ystradowen Community Centre (a.k.a. Canolfan Gymunedol Ystradowen Community Centre ltd), it also outwardly operates under the banner of its local nickname 'Clwb Bach' - a throwback to the days when there was another working mens club in the village called Clwb Mawr. The club is normally open on Tuesday /Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday lunchtimes, but will accommodate sporting events / wakes / concerts etc. as needed. There is also a Café operating there from Monday to Saturday 9am to 2pm called "Café Henllys".
