This Pub is Closed Long Term

Modern canal-side bar with lots of steel and glass making the interior light and airy. The large outdoor terrace is very popular in the summer. A Marstons pub.

Historic Interest

Waterfront in located in Nottingham City Council's Nottingham Canal Conservation Area.

Originally a public house for Mansfield Brewery plc. Planning approval for the build given in 1997 (97/02377/PDS4) as "Pub A", following the rejection of an earlier application in 1996 (96/02253/PDS4) on the grounds that "the design of the proposed building would be of insufficient quality and interest ......."

Nottingham City planning records show the partial refusal of consent and the partial conditional approval in 1998 of Mansfield's application for a large "Waterfront" sign (98/00113/ADV). Perhaps the location opposite the Magistrates Court influenced this decision?
