Two-levelled pub set back from the road. Popular with locals and students, due to the proximity to the University of Nottingham. The front part of the pub was originally a farmhouse, dating back to 1670. Food is mainly bar snacks.
Historic Interest
Named for the crest of the Gregory family, from whom Shipstone's acquired the pub in 1938. One of only two pubs in the City's Wollaton East and Lenton Abbey Ward.
The Three Wheatsheaves has an entry on the Nottingham Local Heritage List as Heritage Asset HA138 (formerly a place on Nottingham Civic Society's Draft Heritage List (09 December 2013)), which notes that the pub is a former farm building of the late 17th or early 18th century date.
Asset of Community Value listed 19th May 2016, nominated by the Nottingham Branch of CAMRA.
