This Pub is Permanently Closed

This quirky old pub on the outskirts of Grosmont and very close to the English border had one bar with an eclectic range of furniture with table skittles at its centre. The late landlord worked here for well over 60 years and doubled as a coffin maker where he would make tailor-made receptacles for his living customers! The pub only sold a real perry but this was always in top form. The toilets were outside, a real throwback to by-gone days. Since the landlord passed away (date uncertain) ownership of the premises seemed to be in dispute so its current state as of Feb 2015 is unknown.
