Kingsholme, Nuneaton

For most of the first half of the 19th century, certainly between 1806 and the late 1860's this pub was owned by the Hastelow family. In 1867 they still held the freehold, and sold it in September that year, John Mills was the licensee at the time the Hastelow family sold it. At that time it had its own brew house. Later it was acquired by the Lichfield Brewery. It was subsequently owned by the Flowers (of Stratford on Avon) Brewery during the early part of the 20th century before becoming an Ansells pub. Walter Ball was the licensee in 1900. T.E. Woodcock was the tenant in 1912. And A. Tinsley was there in 1933. (Ansells Brewery traded as such for just over 100 years between 1858 and 1961 when it became Allied Breweries).
