This 18th century former coaching inn is situated in the centre of the village. The pub was bought from Ei (formally known as Enterprise Inns) in September 2019 by the Cornwood Inn Action Group, a Community Benefit Society formed by a group of 300 local volunteers who wanted to safeguard their village pub. The pub was refurbished and reopened on Thursday 8th October 2020.
The regular cask ale is Dartmoor Jail Ale, supplemented by up to three regularly changing guest beers. There is also an extensive gin selection. An extensive, locally sourced food menu is available from Thursday to Saturday lunchtimes and evenings, and on Sunday lunchtimes.
The large car park has an area for tethering horses and a covered smoking area. There is a substantial open-plan bar with a secluded dining area. Dogs are welcome.
