Large, popular village pub built in 1830 on the eastern fringe of town which underwent a major refurbishment a few years ago in a contemporary style. The central bar has some comfy sofas, adjacent to which is a lounge area. Their restaurant doesn't do food Sunday evenings. There is a large garden and patio areas, and they host regular live music, quizzes and meet the brewer evenings. Guest ales typically from Hogs Back, Dartmoor, Severn Vale, Bespoke, Wye Valley, Bath and Butcombe breweries.
