George Wright Boutique Hotel Bar & Grill, Rotherham

Originally built in the 1810 as the headquarters of George Wright & Co, a firm who made elaborate stoves and fireplaces. It later became a pub/restaurant called the Coach House and latterly the Snail, after it's location. Following it's closure in the 2000's, it suffered an arson attack which did significant damage. Reopened, following a £400,000 plus refurbishment, by a local business man on 6th July 2018. The building has a grade II listing and much of the original interior has been retained during the refurbishment. It now features two bars, a restaurant, function room and seven letting rooms. There are two open terraces, one to the front and one at the rear. Each of the letting rooms is named after a local historic figure. Real ale is no longer sold. Recently won a restoration award from the Rotherham District Civic Society. In November 2022, the Fitzwilliam & Hughes business was moved from the nearby Imperial Buildings to the George Wright. Reopened on1st July 2023, under new management. A new Mediterranean style grill menu has been introduced, complete with a salad bar.
