North Merseyside Pub of the Year 20 and Cider Pub of the Year 202. in what used to be an old Martins Bank branch until 1978 (the logo of Martins bank was a grasshopper). It is situated in the row of shops close to Hillside train station. There is outdoor seating at the front of the pub and a secluded Beer Garden to the rear.
Eight changing real ales and six real ciders are served. Oversized pint glasses are available on request.
The pub hosts monthly meetings of CoLAPs (Coast of Lancashire Ale Preservation Society) on the first Monday of each month which feature regular speakers on beer related topics. CAMRA members are welcome to attend. The changing selection of Real Ales can be found on the Real Ale Finder App.
